SESSIONS: ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron

The capo of Top Dawg Entertainment sure has a tough act to follow. ScHoolboy Q’s been hard at work finishing the last touches on his major label debut album, Oxymoron.

Although fans of the California rapper know this isn’t his actual “debut” he is still approaching the project as such, especially following the nearly flawless debut of Kendrick Lamar’good kid, m.A.A.d. city.

“I made this project the way I wanted to make it,” Q told STASHED in a recent sit-down. “This album is crazy, honestly. It’s my best work. I mean I know a lot of rappers say that when they drop their album but you know, I’m one of them dudes that, you know…it ain’t like I drop mixtapes. I drop songs every month to let you know I’m really in the studio. I could easily put a record out and people will be like ‘that’s a mixtape record,’ but that just means it wasn’t good enough to be on your album.”

Q also speaks about the lost version of the “Collard Greens” video that may never see the light of day as well as what to truly expect from Oxymoron. Check out Schoolboy Q’s sit-down with STASHED on the original series, SESSIONS.
