There’s not much I can say about Cane except the dude is dope. This DMV artist has continued to make a name for himself throughout 2013 with the release of his acclaimed Lucid Dreams and being selected to open up for the ill-fated Rock The Bells in DC. Cane took the cancellation in stride and continued to perform for his fans, recently headlining at the Rock and Roll Hotel in DC and opening up for Chris Webby down in Virginia.
His latest efforts will be in the form of an industry instrumental mixtape, Charles Street Chi. Recently the Fredericksburg native let loose two impressive remixes, first crippling verses over A$AP Ferg’s “Shabba” and then flipping Drake’s “Pound Cake” on its head, giving it new life. Cane is at it again and this time he’s hopped on ScHoolboy Q’s banger “Collard Greens.” The freshly released track, titled “Glory Greens,” continues Cane’s trend of flexing on some of today’s heavy hitters.
In addition to going in over some of today’s biggest beats, expect this talented MC to release some original works as well. Charles Street Chi will be released on January 28 and stay tuned as Cane readies his latest body of original work.
