Did CM Punk Quit WWE?

One of the WWE’s most popular wrestlers has reportedly called it quits. As of today it seems that CM Punk has quit the WWE and has thus been removed from all live events.

A report from Wrestling Observer states that Punk walked off the job on Monday after telling Vince McMahon that he was “going home.” What you’re probably thinking is that this is all part of the show as Punk “quit” in 2011 before returning with the WWE Championship. You may be right, but at the same time this may be very real.

According to PWMania, Punk was originally slated to face Triple H at Wrestlemania 30. Now the plan for Wrestlemania is for Triple H to verse Daniel Bryan. There is no word on whether the change is because Punk left or if the change caused Punk to leave.

By now it’s no secret that Punk has been the rebel of WWE, and this only feeds into the speculation as to why he left. Other theories on why Punk left include his stance on part-time wrestlers. In the past Punk has been very vocal about part-time wrestlers returning and getting pushed ahead of people who are out there every night.

The other theory is that Punk left because he would not be a part of the main event at Wrestlemania. Main-eventing Wrestlemania has always been a final goal for Punk and this just may have been the last straw.

With Punk’s WWE contract expiring in July it will be interesting to see if he remains with the company. The only thing fans can do for now is hope this is all part of the show and that he returns for Wrestlemania.
