We often forget about the importance of balance, especially when faced with the realities of dream-chasing. But not RYLI, a buzzing singer/songwriter who has been residing in New York for several years. She’s managed to earn her degree from NYU, appear on various TV shows, take on the role of Odette in season 1 of Orange Is the New Black, model, focus on music, and keep in touch with her vulnerable side, even if it’s through music.
“Tell Me” which premiered on Solange’s Saint Heron, is one of her most sensual records. Over the Unscripted-produced beat, she’s eager to take direction from her partner as she embarks on an intimate ride. “Tell me how you like,” she sings in her whispered tone. “Show me how you touch it.”
It’s this carnal vibe that flows throughout the abstract visual where viewers get treated to shadows, hair whipping, and skin long before RYLI declares she “just wants to feel you.”
“Showcasing this side of myself is not easy, so I want to give the people a project that lets them know I’m just like them. I’m evolving and growing just like you,” she says in a press release, which introduces readers to Enter, her debut EP.
“Tell Me” is just one facet to RYLI. On listening to her new 5-track release, listeners are able to hear the range and versatility of this promising songstress.
