You stay classy, New York. That’s exactly what Will Ferrell superfans Zach Neil and Brian Link intend for their beloved city with a bar dedicated solely to the actor’s cinematic acheivements. Located in New York City’s Lower East Side (174 Rivington Street), Stay Classy crashes the neighborhood’s bar scene in Catalina Wine Mixer fashion with a blend of Anchorman, Get Hard and everything in between.
“This bar is kind of like the place where a 35-or 40-year-old person could come and sit and not be intimidated by loud techno music but still be surrounded by things that are funny and ridiculous and kinda get it,” Neil explained to WPIX. “That’s what Will Ferrell has always meant to us.” It’s described as a love letter to Ferrell’s memorable roles, including a drink menu that boasts cocktails like Smelly Pirate Hooker (Jalapeno Margarita: tequila, Stoli jalapeno, orange juice, sour mix, lime juice) and You’re My Boy Blue (Hendrick’s Gin, Blue curacao, Sweet and Sour, pineapple juice). You can view the full menu here.
Stay Classy officially opened its doors October 1, but will hold off on their official launch party until October 23. The event will be an Anchorman-themed Halloween party, offering guests who dress up as Ron Burgundy or other characters from the film a free drink and cash prizes.
If this sounds like a swell idea to you (and it should), make sure you add Stay Classy to your lists of bars to check out.
