It’s that time of the year where we all reflect on what the last 365 days have brought us. Musically, 2015 has been a wild ride. Easily the most active year in quite some time, we’ve been blessed with albums from the most notable artists doing it right now (fingers crossed Kanye and Rihanna drop an album before the ball drops). And with just a few hours left until the New Year, we should brace ourselves for unexpected departing gifts.
Last night served as a perfect example. Big Sean surprised fans with a new heater to celebrate his most successful year to date. Sean brings in Pharrell and Detail for “What A Year,” a momentous record reminding us of all the great things he’s accomplished in 2015. He also touches on the recent burglary of his LA residence. And the artwork for the record is a feat in itself, “We counted a lot more wins than losses…and to me, that’s worth more than damn near anything. BTW, you took the wrong hard drive.” Stay winning Sean Don.
But Big Sean wasn’t the only one to bless fans last night. Travi$ Scott follows up his debut effort Rodeo with two new surprise cuts. “A-Team” and “Wonderful,” which features The Weeknd, are the sort of records you’d expect the rapper to wrap up the year with.
All three cuts will surely fine some play time during tonight’s festivities, that is unless Kanye decides to stop play games with our hearts. Give “What A Year” a listen up top and “A-Team” and “Wonderful” down below.
