It looks like D.R.A.M. is taking a page out of Drake’s book for his latest offering. Continuing with the year’s strong start, the Virginia artist decided to try his hands at Bryson Tiller’s “Don’t.” The record became popular last year, and already received the remix treatment from Sevyn Streeter, K Camp, and Mila J.
With a style and voice that’s fairly distinct, D.R.A.M. gives a unique feel to “Don’t.” He spends the beginning of the record grabbing listeners in with suspenseful details of a night cap. “I took back off my shoes/ I hung back up my hat/ My bags done been unpacked/ I am not going no where,” he sings.
D.R.A.M., who was one of 2015’s breakout artists, has always been on a mission to make feel-good music. Last fall, he unleashed a 9-track project titled GahDamn. He kicked off a tour under the same title in December with upcoming stops in Toronto, New York City, San Francisco, Santa Ana, and Los Angeles.
Another record he recently released is “1 Year,” which finds him venting about his journey in the industry. “Often imitated,” he croons over slow burning production.
