Italy’s premier fashion house Dolce & Gabbana has decided to enter 2016 in a slightly different fashion. The luxe brand, which has been known for its sleek and classic design, has decided to tap into the arabic market, debuting a line of hijabs and abayas for those who want to mix fashion with their religious beliefs. Released Sunday, the new line was exclusively premiered on Style.com/Arabia.
The collection ranges from hijabs to full abayas, with neutral colors at the forefront. Floral prints and bright ornamentation, along with classic pasleys are prominently featured on the delicately constructed pieces, which are also featured in Dolce & Gabbana’s spring 2016 line. The fashion industry is hardly a stranger to tapping into the Muslim market – particularly for the Ramadan season. Just last year, H&M hired their first hijab-wearing model, Mariah Idrissi, for their fall campaign, while Uniqlo hired Hana Tajima to design a new line of hijabs, blouses, and dresses that were sold online and at the retailer’s location in Singapore.
