Governors Ball 2016 Lineup Includes Kanye West, Jamie xx, Miguel, and More

Governors Ball

Can today get any better? Shortly before Kanye West sent the Internet into a frenzy with the release of his brand-new track “Real Friends,” it was announced that the Chicago rapper would be headlining this year’s Governors Ball, which is set to take place over June 3-5 at New York City’s Randall’s Island Park.

The weekend-long event has always boasted a star-studded list of performances. For 2016, Governors Ball announced Mac Miller, Jamie xx, Beck, Gary Clark Jr, Action Bronson, Miguel, Vince Staples, De La Soul, Joey Badass, and Vic Mensa as part of its festival.

2013 was the last time Kanye West took to their stage. At the time, he performed “On Site” and “I Am a God,” which were both unreleased records off of Yeezus. The festival followed up that epic set with a 2014 performance from Outkast and last year’s headliners Drake, The Black Keys, and Lana Del Rey.

Tickets for the Governors Ball have already begin to go on sale. Today, the website unveiled a link to purchase specially priced 3-day tickets. Next, they’ll be rolling out advance tickets followed by regular priced ones.
