Kendrick Lamar Performs “Untitled 2” on “The Tonight Show” [VIDEO]

Kendrick Lamar

The Internet lit up yesterday when Questlove announced the arrival of new music from Kendrick Lamar. Anyone who was tuned into the Compton rapper’s 2015 run knows the type of impact he’s had since the release of To Pimp a Butterfly. Now, with the New Year in motion, the emcee is already following up that critically acclaimed body of work with a brand-new song.

This evening, during The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, K. Dot debuted “Untitled 2.”  Backed by The Roots, Kendrick Lamar performed, and completely owned the style that fans have been gushing over for months now. The song is emotionally stirring, and acts as the sequel to a record he premiered on The Colbert Report back in December of 2014.

To Pimp a Butterfly garnered the TDE rapper 11 Grammy nominations in categories like Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Rap Album. And as March approaches, we’re coming closer to the LP’s one-year anniversary.

There’s a chance that tonight’s performance of “Untitled 2” captured fans by surprise seeing that Kendrick took a bit of hiatus after his last LP, good kid, m.A.A.d city. As of right now, there’s no word on where this song will live, but even if it’s just a loosie, fans will be alright.
