Check Out Images, Posters, and a Second Trailer for John Hillcoat’s Gritty Heist Drama “Triple 9”

Triple 9 Trailer

When Open Road Films dropped the first red band trailer for John Hillcoat’s upcoming heist drama, we knew it was going to be a big deal. Needless to say, Triple 9 rests securely on our list of anticipated films to arrive in 2016. Directed by the same guy who helmed The Road (2009) and Lawless (2012), Triple 9 boasts an all-star cast, including the likes of Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Woody Harrelson, Kate Winslet, Aaron Paul, Norman Reedus, Gal Gadot, Anthony Mackie and Clifton Collins Jr. Phew.

The ruthless crime flick follows a group of corrupt cops and criminals forced into pulling off a seemingly impossible heist by the Russian mafia. In order to get the job done, half of the crew plan the murder of a rookie officer on one side of town while the other half takes on the heist.

It’s certainly an ambitious concept. Triple 9 will most likely be compared to similar titles such as Ben Affleck’s equally gritty The Town (2010). We’ve seen all these actors at their best at some point or another, so Triple 9 has the potential to be especially great.

The new trailer unpacks more of the plot driving Triple 9, introducing us to the major players behind the corruption as well as the rookie cop, played by Casey Affleck. The studio also unleashed a bunch of new images and character posters, which can be seen down below.

Triple 9 arrives in theaters February 26. Take a look at the new trailer up top.
