The WWE has been suffering through an unprecedented amount of injuries during their annual Road To WrestleMania. While stars like part-timers The Rock and Brock Lesnar are pegged to perform at some level at the company’s biggest show, main roster stars like Seth Rollins, John Cena, Randy Orton and more might miss the show due to injury.
While the WWE is figuring out how it’s going to fill up the Dallas Cowboys’ massive AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, it looks like one of the Lone Star State’s greatest attractions might (might!) be ready to step back into the ring. During “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s appearance on the 100th episode of The Ross Report podcast, Austin revealed he’s “99 percent sure” that he will be at WrestleMania 32.
“Whether we do something in the ring, or if I’m part of the show — it remains to be seen,” Austin said. “A big part of the WrestleMania weekend for me is going to the Hall of Fame. By hook or by crook, I see myself being there.”
Austin went on to add that nothing’s been discussed creatively, and he’s not sure that he would play any role on the show at this point. Austin says he does have an idea that makes sense to him, but he can’t talk about it right now. If there’s anything that can bring in the crowds, especially if it’s something that happens in the ring, it is the return of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
Austin last competed at WWE ring at WrestleMania XIX when he took on The Rock and lost. He has appeared on WWE television several times in non-wrestling roles over the past decade.
