New “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” Video Game Revealed [VIDEO]

TMNT: Mutants In Manhattan video game reveal.

For months there’s been speculation about a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game titled TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan. In that time, fans have gotten no official confirmation that the game is even slated for release, until now. Platinum Games finally climbed out of the sewer today with a tweet announcing that a reveal for the TMNT game is set for tomorrow, January 26

The tweet from Platinum Games promises that an “official leak” for TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan will arrive tomorrow. No other clues can be seen in the teaser image, which means that the reveal could be a gameplay trailer, more still images, or literally anything else pertaining to the game. As far as a release date is concerned, there’s a good chance the game will arrive this summer, when the second film in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot series is slated to hit theaters.

Being that Platinum Games served as the studio behind last year’s Transformers Devastation, TMNT fans shouldn’t be shell-shocked if the Turtle-themed brawler offers a similar gameplay experience. Whatever’s in-store for tomorrow’s reveal, it’s safe to assume it involves pizza. And that’s never a bad thing. Well, almost never.

On a side note, the Ninja Turtles might be about the only squad that can get away with rocking the upcoming Nike LeBron 13 All-Star.

Check out the tweet from Platinum Games after the jump and check back with STASHED tomorrow for the latest on TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan.

UPDATE 1/26/16:

As promised, Platinum Games has formally announced TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan with the very first trailer for the game. The new footage reveals the game’s storyline, in which the Turtles’ nemesis Shredder has enlisted The Foot Clan in a hostile takeover of the city. The rhino and pig pair known as Bebop and Rocksteady also appear in the trailer, as well as the mutant shark Armaggon. Aside from the foes, there’s also a cameo from April O’Neil.

In addition to unveiling the plot and players, the TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan trailer also features a fair amount of gameplay footage, including a look at the 4-player co-op mode. Catch all four turtles in battle via the trailer below.

TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan is slated to release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC some time in Summer 2016.
