When worlds collide, there are usually negative repercussions (just ask “Independent George“). Thankfully for gamers, that rule of thumb doesn’t apply to the realm of video games. Hence the savviest of mods can utilize games enabled with Forge mode to do things like bring worlds from their favorite games together. Such is the impressive feat that one player who goes by “Bearskopff” was able to achieve with the iconic castle from Super Mario 64 and the world of Halo 5: Guardians.
For those that don’t know, Halo 5 allows followers to build their own maps through Forge mode. Exercising a keen eye for detail, Bearskopff was able to recreate the Super Mario 64 castle and make it into a playable map for Halo 5 gamers to use for multiplayer combat. Footage of the map has yet to surface, but there are some images of the gamer’s work that will render you both nostalgic and amazed.
As great as the Super Mario-themed battleground may be, maps like it have the potential to get even better in the future. Halo 5 is a game that’s constantly being serviced with new updates. In the future, some of the added items and tools could potentially make it even easier to have access to such a map.
Halo 5 is just one of several popular games to get a facelift from gamers this year. There have also been next-gen versions of GoldenEye 007 and Metal Gear Solid, the latter of which may actually have a small chance to make it to market.
