We’ve heard plenty of artists take on Adele’s “Hello.” There’s R&B singer Joe’s version, Genevieve Ahkuoi’s fitness rendition, BLACKOUT NYC’s video, and a reggae cover that’s currently making its round. But none of those measure up to Wiz Khalifa’s remix of the British pop singer’s breathtaking, record-breaking song.
During a recent visit to Power 106 FM, Wiz Khalifa unleashed a unique freestyle to Adele’s “Hello.” The Pittsburgh artist kept in the realm of one of the things he’s most passionate about: weed. “Roll one up and let’s get high/ I am trying to get fried,” he croons over Adele’s slow-burning beat.
“My cause is marijuana, peace and music — everybody enjoys those things,” Wiz told Billboard at this weekend’s Winterfest. In addition to playing shows, and making stops at popular radio shows, Wiz is prepping the release of his upcoming album, Khalifa.
Khalifa was announced back in December. More recently, he shared the LP’s official tracklisting. The album is home to his Travis Scott-assisted “Bake Sale.” “Us being young and having the same energy and some of the same inspirations and a lot of the same crowd, it really just made sense,” he said, speaking on that collaboration.
