Though a somewhat fuzzy preview of the highly anticipated collaboration between Nice Kicks and adidas surfaced late last week, we now have our first official look at the upcoming redesign of the popular NMD model. The collaboration comes as part of Nice Kicks’ adidas Consortium Tour, where it specifically uses the NMD Runner PK silhouette – no doubt due to its premium Primeknit construction. The special-edition design was also created to commemorate the opening of the blog/sneaker store’s new storefront in San Francisco’s Haight Street District.
Intricately designed, the new concept features a tie-dye print that is reminiscent of retro concert/tour posters from the 1970s. Arriving in an impressive red and black colorway, the vintage design runs throughout the entire upper construction, with a white mid-sole featuring black colorblocking to add dimension. Gum/black end-soles round out the standout design, with the Nice Kicks’ logo on the tongue and heel tags finishing it off.
The Nice Kicks x adidas NMD collaboration launches exclusively at the new San Francisco location February 6. Can’t make it out? The new kicks will also be available online at shopnicekicks.com. Check them out below.
