Usually there’s a calm before the storm, but that’s not the case for the growing hype surrounding Drake’s highly anticipated LP, Views From the 6. The Toronto emcee caused an uproar last weekend with his album’s first song, “Summer Sixteen.” On it, he announced his plot for revenge, and reignited an ongoing feud with Meek Mill and others.
Information about the album’s actual release was unveiled this same night, leaving fans waiting for the month of April for Views’ arrival. “We’re getting very, very close. The time will come when Drake’s ready to pull the trigger,” said Noah “40” Shebib during an interview with B-Real of Cypress Hill. “For us it’s just a balance of finding that space to make a project that’s based around our city and then also coming out here to the West Coast to escape some of the harsh winter and find a good creative space. There has to be a balance of both those locations for the type of album we’re making.”
Drake and 40 have been collaborating for some time. He recently spoke on the relationship during an interview with Fader, stating, “If I want to make the album I want to make, I have to go find him. I have to go sit with him, and we have to really put in effort.”
Views From the 6 is Drake’s fourth studio effort.
