While our collective fate hangs in the balance as Twitter readies its ominous new update, Instagram has finally addressed one of our biggest pet peeves in regards to the photo-sharing app – the lack of a toggle feature. For those who handle multiple IG accounts, whether it be for your business, pet, or weird celebrity shrine, Instagram’s new update will allow users to seamlessly toggle between multiple accounts.
In a note shared just a short while ago, the app revealed its long-awaited new feature with blistering enthusiasm. “Starting this week, you can quickly and easily switch between multiple accounts on Instagram! 🎉,” the release reads. The feature is super easy to handle. Users will be given the option to add new accounts via their settings and, once the accounts are linked, you’ll simply tap your username at the top of your profile to switch between accounts. To avoid any confusion about which account you’re running, Instagram will begin to display your profile photo throughout the app.
Instagram first tested the feature with Android a few months back, before testing it with their iOS users. And now, after much delay, the feature will be available for everyone this week with the 7.15 update.
