Jeremih Announces “Later That Night” Project, Missy Elliott’s “Pep Rally,” and More

Jeremih Details His Next Project; Talks Work with Kanye West

There’s a chance that Jeremih’s newest LP, Late Nights: The Album, was overlooked. Since the time it was first announced, the album faced a number of starts and stops including several potential release dates that came and went. After months of anticipation, and almost a full year after the release of its lead J. Cole-assisted single “Planes,” the crooner finally unleashed the effort without any notice.

Late Nights: The Album — I’m glad the world has finally soaked it in, and is marinating in it, but you best believe I have a whole other late night coming for you real soon: Later That Night,” he told Billboard. “I gave them the mixtape, I dropped the album — now I want to give them a complete trilogy of work.”

This is good news for fans of the first two projects. Late Nights: The Album featured appearances from Juicy J, Ty Dolla Sign, Migos, Future, YG, and more. There’s no word in this interview on who he’s working with on Later That Night, but he did reveal that he recently linked with Kanye West. “I’m not sure really where he’s at with his album right now, or if he’s actually going to use the work that we’ve done — but if he doesn’t use it, I sure will,” he said.

More information on Jeremih’s newest work will be revealed in a full interview with the publication. Stay tuned.

Missy Elliott Releases Another Banger, “Pep Rally”

Missy-Elliott-on-SwayIt’s been a year since Missy Elliott took the stage with Katy Perry during the halftime show at Super Bowl 49. And since then, the legendary rapper made a serious comeback. With her music regaining popularity after the aforementioned performance, Missy wasted no time prepping a memorable follow-up.

In November, she teamed with Pharrell Williams for the booming single, “WTF (Where They From).” Before this, she appeared as a guest on songs with Janet Jackson and Ciara. Williams confirmed that he’s working on a brand-new Missy Elliott album during an interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last April.

“Her mind, the way [Missy’s] mind works. When we’re in the studio, the things that she says and the things that she thinks about, her video concepts,” he told Fallon.“I’m so proud of her.”

Her new song “Pep Rally” arrived just in time for last night’s Super Bowl. Stop, drop, rock, and roll along with Missy Elliott’s new tune below.

Kanye West Hints at a New Secret Album Title

Kanye West

There’s a lot to take in when thinking about Kanye West’s upcoming album. The LP, formerly known as Waves, still has no title. There’s also the possibility that the Chicago emcee’s new work is a gospel album. And let’s not forget all the signatures on the album’s tracklisting that are leading some to believe they belong to the album’s featured guests.

Now, with just a few day’s left to the release of the project, Kanye West has kicked off a countdown, and hinted that the LP is close to receiving an actual name. “There may be a new secret album title,” he tweeted.

Fans should expect Ye’s new effort to come on Friday, February 11. He’s set to world-premiere the project at his Yeezy Season 3 fashion show, which will be streamed at cinemas around the world.  According to Swizz Beatz, Ye’s putting together a great piece of work. “It’s one of the best albums I heard him produce in a while. It’s a sound that I think is very enjoyable,” he told Billboard.
