“Legends of the Hidden Temple” to Return as a Live-Action Movie

Legends of the Hidden Temple

In addition to developing new programs, Nickelodeon is banking on ’90s nostalgia to reconnect with older audiences and introduce younger generations to some of the great programming that once reigned supreme. The network already promised us a two-part Hey Arnold! movie that will presumably answer all our burning questions, and now, they’re readying a live-action feature for one of their most beloved shows, Legends of the Hidden Temple.

According to Variety, the made-for-TV adaptation will follow three siblings that must navigate a series of obstacles in order to survive. The revival will incorporate several elements of the show, including Olmec, the talking head who “knows the secrets behind each of the treasures in his temple,” The Steps of Knowledge, and of course, the temple itself. You can also expect brief appearances from the green monkey, red jaguar, and silver snakes, because it just wouldn’t be right without them.

Nickelodeon is expected to release Legends of the Hidden Temple sometime in the 4th Quarter of 2016, while Hey Arnold! will see a 2017 premiere. Now let’s just pray they get their hands onto a GUTS revival. While we anxiously await our first look at both revivals, let’s take a look at quite possibly the worst run in Legends of the Hidden Temple history.
