Here’s What It Sounds Like When Notorious B.I.G. Meets Metro Boomin [STREAM]

Notorious B.I.G.

Notorious B.I.G. might be gone, but he’ll never be forgotten. In the 19 years since his tragic death in Los Angeles, California, rappers have immortalized him through rhymes, shared memories, and on film. Mick and Chi Duly joined in on keeping B.I.G.’s name alive by pairing his timeless lyrics with a current sound.

The Ready to Boom mash-up kicks off with “Juicy” playing over Kanye West’s “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1,” a record produced by Metro Boomin. “Dead Wrong,” “Everyday Struggle,” “Where Brooklyn At,” “Hold Ya Head,” and more Biggie classics are blended into this 30-minute mix.

A few rappers who have paid homage to Biggie this week include Lil’ Kim, Maino, and Joey Badass. And while we always hear stories from the likes of Puff Daddy, Jay Z, Nas, Mister Cee, and other individuals who were close to the late emcee, artists like ASAP Ferg and Pusha T have also spoken on Biggie’s legacy as well.

“Big had all these intricacies, all these colors, all these witty things – and it didn’t sound like a rap. It was a conversation,” Pusha T told Rolling Stone.

Relive this in DJ Mick Boogie and Chi Duly’s mash-up below. And head over to STASHED’s Instagram for a recap of our #TranslateBIG event.
