It’s been over six months since Miguel released his newest LP, Wildheart. In the time following, he’s managed to collaborate with Travis Scott, host a motel art gallery, and perform on stages around the world. Last night, the crooner brought his stunning show to a crowd in Austin, Texas, for SXSW.
Always aiming to please, Miguel threw in a few tricks for his devoted fans. In addition to performing records from Wildheart, he took a shot at Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better.” The emotional tune falls right into Miguel’s lane as he’s already given us “waves,” “N.W.A.,” and “Coffee.”
“Kiss It Better” is a record off of Rihanna’s eighth studio album, ANTI. The singer released the LP back in January. It garnered plenty of attention, and over a million streams. And with the recent launch of her tour, the songstress’ hype isn’t dying down anytime soon.
Miguel’s recent chat with TMZ revealed his love for Rihanna’s “Work.” The two joined each other and showed off their musical chemistry earlier this year for a performance of a popular Temptations’ song titled “My Girl.” Watch a quick snippet of Miguel’s cover below.
