Though their sneakers department has been at the forefront of the brand’s image, adidas Originals has undoubtedly been on a roll lately in all aspects – particularly with their apparel collections. Gaining inspiration from the ’68 Winter Olympic games in France and the ’72 Winter Olympic games in Sapporo, the fashion imprint takes us back in time for its latest collection. The series, officially dubbed as the “regista” collection, draws inspiration from defining moments in sports history, and channels the mark that adidas has left on a variety of sporting events over the last few decades.
The collection features both menswear and womenswear, with the men’s line seeing an abundance of technical jackets, tracksuits, and other streetwear essentials presented in offbeat, asymmetrical constructions. The womenswear component is composed of a range of sportswear basics, featuring tennis skirts, netted jerseys, sports bras, and leggings, presented in a mix of pure white and blue iterations.
The adidas Originals’ Spring/Summer 2016 “regista” collection will be released globally in stores and online starting April 4. View the collection up top in the gallery now.
